Shaun Némorin
Shaun Némorin is a Psychotherapist, community development practitioner, and Clinical Consultant with the NSW Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors (STARTTS).
He brings extensive international experience, having previously served with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in diverse humanitarian settings, including China, Nepal, Northern Mali, the Bangladesh-Myanmar border during the Rohingya crisis, and the Great Lakes region supporting Congolese refugees in Burundi. Shaun has also worked in Australia's Northern Territory with remote Aboriginal communities and in the Solomon Islands, where he mentored mental health practitioners and supported athlete wellbeing during the Pacific Games.
He regularly delivers national and international based workshops on vicarious trauma, asset-based community development, and trauma recovery in displacement settings. Shaun's research in these areas has been published in numerous academic journals, reflecting his commitment to evidence-based practice and the promotion of community-led healing and resilience in complex humanitarian contexts.
Shaun is an avid sports enthusiast.
