Local Active Partnerships Launching in Blue Mountains and Blacktown in June
A key recommendation from the White Paper, Tackling Inactivity and Inequity: A Systems Approach, co-authored with the Centre for Western Sydney at Western Sydney University, was the establishment of Local Active Partnerships (LAPs) across Western Sydney.
Following the early development of the Liverpool and Camden Local Active Partnerships, WSYD Moving is now excited to support the launch of two new Local Active Partnerships in Blue Mountains and Blacktown.
With support from the NSW Government, the partnerships are being developed in collaboration with local councils, health districts and Primary Health Networks to strengthen place-based, cross-sector approaches to increasing physical activity and improving wellbeing outcomes.
The Local Active Partnerships aim to build local networks, relationships, trust and pathways that help enable more active lifestyles through movement, physical activity and sport.
