From Momentum to Movement: Where the System Starts to Shift
Save the Date: 22 October 2026 | Bankstown Sports Club
Registrations are now open for the fourth annual WSYD Moving Symposium — bringing together people and organisations from across Western Sydney who are committed to creating healthier, more active and connected communities.
This year’s theme:
From Momentum to Movement: Where the System Starts to Shift
Reflects the growing collaboration, leadership and collective action emerging across the region. Across Western Sydney, we are increasingly seeing stronger partnerships, local action, systems leadership and community-led approaches helping shift how physical activity, health and wellbeing are understood and enabled.
Since the first Symposium in 2023, the gathering has continued to grow:
2023 – 104 delegates
2024 – 165 delegates
2025 – 208 delegates
2026 – expected 250+ delegates
The Symposium continues to create space for:
Cross-sector collaboration
Systems thinking and innovation
Honest conversations about inequity and inclusion
Sharing local stories and grassroots solutions
Building relationships that support long-term change
This year’s event will once again bring together voices from health, sport, recreation, education, local government, research, planning and community sectors.
We’re also pleased to share that Early Bird Tickets are now available here
There are also opportunities for organisations to become Event Partners and support the Symposium as part of a growing movement focused on health equity and active communities across Western Sydney.
