Board changes and organisational structure

The WSYD Moving Board has recently undergone a number of leadership transitions, and we would like to take this opportunity to update our network.

WSYD Moving Board Members

Lauren Nicholls

Lauren Nicholls has resigned as Deputy Chair due to her move into a different industry. Lauren was a founding Director of WSYD Moving, and we sincerely thank her for her belief in the vision from the very beginning. Her early support, leadership, and commitment were instrumental in helping establish the foundations of the charity.

Scott Walters, another founding Director, has stepped into the role of Deputy Chair, continuing his long-standing contribution to WSYD Moving’s governance and strategic direction.

Lori Modde has stepped down as our inaugural Chair due to increased workload and her recent appointment as Chair of the Outdoor Council of Australia, an exciting development for the outdoor sector nationally. We are pleased that Lori will remain on the Board as a Director, ensuring continuity and ongoing leadership.

Michael Wilkins, who has served as a Director over the past eight months, has stepped into the role of Chair. We are grateful for Michael’s steady leadership and commitment during this next phase of WSYD Moving’s growth.

In a further milestone for the charity, David Burns has resigned from the Board, transitioning from a voluntary Director role to a remunerated Convenor position. This marks an important step in WSYD Moving’s evolution, with the organisation now supported by a small but meaningful 0.5 FTE capacity, alongside a working Board.

Looking ahead, WSYD Moving will shortly commence recruitment for two new Directors. We would be delighted to receive nominations from across our network. Expressions of interest can be sent directly to Michael Wilkins at mfwilko8@gmail.com
