Dr Lindsey Reece

Lindsey is a respected leader in sport policy, strategy, and participation, with a career devoted to making sport and physical activity more inclusive and accessible. 

As Director of Sport Programs at the Australian Sports Commission, she oversees national participation grant programs, drives alignment between federal and state governments, and leads strategic initiatives to strengthen the sport system—most notably as Chair of the Sport Volunteer Coalition. She also oversees the national recognition process for Australia’s sport codes. 

Lindsey plays a key role in delivering Play Well, Australia’s national participation strategy, using research, evaluation, and data to inform evidence-based policy and drive long-term impact across the sector. 

A published researcher, Lindsey contributes to the global knowledge base on sport and physical activity participation, helping to shape both national and international best practice.
