Professor Melody Ding
Jenny was first introduced to The Big Issue as a teenager in England, when she began developing an interest in social issues. She has been a passionate supporter of the social enterprise ever since.
After a decade working as a secondary school teacher in both England and Australia, Jenny transitioned to the refugee sector to pursue her commitment to social justice. Over seven years, she led a range of projects focused on welcoming and including asylum seekers into the community. This experience has prepared her well for her dual role at The Big Issue, where she coordinates both the Community Street Soccer Programs and The Big Issue Classroom in NSW and the ACT.
Jenny has supported the Australian team at the Homeless World Cup for the past three years and feels strongly about creating opportunities for people facing barriers to participate in mainstream sport. She is passionate about the power of sport to build confidence, connection, and community.
