Prof. Anne Tiedemann
Professor Anne Tiedemann is Professor of Physical Activity and Health in the Sydney School of Public Health and leads the Healthy Ageing research theme at the Institute for Musculoskeletal Health, a partnership between The University of Sydney and Sydney Local Health District.
Professor Tiedemann's research develops and evaluates the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of scalable physical activity-based strategies to promote health and prevent falls in middle to older age.
Professor Tiedemann has authored 185 research publications that are cited over 34,000 times (H-index is 55). Her research has attracted over $27 million in competitive grant funding and has informed World Health Organization guidelines. Professor Tiedemann's current research includes the first trial internationally to evaluate the effect of yoga on falls in people aged 60 years and older.
